What Are We Missing?! – Part 1

It’s 2010.  Vancouver has finally had the chance it was waiting for to show itself to the world – revealing its majestic natural scenery and vibrant cultural identity.  Now that the Olympics have come and gone, what arts productions can future tourists, and we Vancouverites, look forward to experiencing in this beautiful city?

The British Columbia Arts Council’s funding has been cut by 40%. Following on the heels of this announcement, on March 8 the BC Liberal government announced that adult arts and culture would not be receiving any Gaming grants for 2010/11 (prior to this BC Gaming represented $20 million in arts investments).

Those numbers are one thing, but what do they actually look like when we are talking about art?  WHAT ARE WE MISSING?
